Bemidji “First City on the Mississippi” and “Home to Paul and Babe!” These are two phrases that Bemidji has been known by for many years. Paul & Babe were created and constructed by Bemidji community members nearly 70 years ago and have become part of what we are so well known for. They are part of the heritage, history, tradition and fabric of what we all know and love about our community.

A special committee has been established to “Save Babe.” The partners are Bemidji Rotary, which built Babe in 1937, The Bemidji Area Chamber of Commerce, The City of Bemidji and the Heritage Preservation Commission. The “Save Babe” committee is requesting your assistance in our campaign to revitalize this long time community icon.
