Marketing Advisory Commitee MACMission: To market the Bemidji Area for shopping, lodging. services, and general promotion to enhance and support member businesses. The committee sponsors the Annual Paul & Babe's Summer Giveaway. Young Professionals Network YPNMission: Engage and connect dedicated young professionals to embrace and accelerate personal and professional growth by offering a sense of belonging within the business community, diverse meaningful connections and leadership opportunities. Bemidji State University Partnership CommitteeCollaboration between the Bemidji Area Chamber of Commerce and Bemidji State University is focused on aligning resources and creating a broader awareness of the two committees. Strategies include increasing awareness and promoting benefits of internships in hopes of retaini ng the graduating talent. Committee meets the first Friday of each month. AmbassadorsPurpose: To welcome new businesses, professional persons, owners and new managers to the area. To visit and congratulate a relocation or significant expansion of a business. Serve as a welcome committee at special functions of the Chamber. Committee meets monthly on the second Thursday at noon. The volunteers range from 20-25 in number. They are well known for their striking teal colored jackets and smiles Special Events CommitteeIf you have an interest in the Chamber’s annual special events, this committee is for you! This team meets regularly and helps to plan, organize and facilitate major events such as the Annual Celebration, Taste of Northern MN, Business Expo, Top of the Morn’ and more Grow Minnesota!Grow Minnesota! is Minnesota's first purely private sector, statewide business retention and expansion program. Its primary goal is to strengthen and grow Minnesota's economy. Initiated by the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce in September 2003, Grow Minnesota! is carried out in partnership with local chambers of commerce from across the state. The Bemidji Area Chamber is one of 54 Local Chambers and Economic Development organizations making over 900 business retention visits annually. Ad Hoc CommitteesMembers have an opportunity to assist at all Special Events, acting as “hands on” at a specified event of interest. In addition, there are a variety of short-term options at events such as First City of Lights, Dragon Boat Festival and Member Appreciation Week where assistance may be needed over the course of several days, but then wrap up until the following year Public AffairsMission: To review and research current and potential issues affecting community and Chamber membership of the Bemidji Area. Committee meets the second Friday of each month to discuss, review and make recommendations for Board approval and/or review. Also, the major planning group for Bemidji Day at the Capitol. |
